The festival was from 11am at Alona village square on Sunday and it was repeated on November 17. The visitors can watch the Zivania distillation process and the preparation of palouze, a traditional Cypriot delicacy made with grape, juice and flour. Traditional food and drink was on sale and local products were offered. There was traditional music songs and dance.

The Fourth Zivania Festival was in scenic Pitsilia valley village of Alone in the Troodos Mountains in the aim to promote Cyprus' historic distilled alcoholic dringk and local products. The festival was repeated a week later at Pelendri village in the Limassol mountain district. "Zivania, like Commandaria, is totally Cypriot right, and it intesifies everyone's responisbility for making the correct and flexible decisions to support this historic distilled product, marketing in this way the resent and future course of the vine and wine sector in Cyprus" said Minister Nicos Kouyialis. On behalf of the Troodos Tourism Board, Christos Eliades said that a complete rural development concerns the viability of rural areas in the framework of an economic, social, environmental and cultural balance.
